The first annual Miles for Smiles Duathlon is in honor of my daughter’s dad who suffered from depression and died July 2015 eventually losing his battle with depression. In an effort to raise awareness for anxiety and depression we planned this family-friendly sprint, duathlon which takes place in the towns of Winchester and Lexington. The run starts at the Vinson-Owen Elementary School and winds through scenic, neighborhood streets for 2 miles, followed by a 10-mile road bike through historical Lexington and finishing with a repeat of the run. There is one major hill on the bike course and a few curves on the run. We will limit the registrations to 200 so sign up early this event is sure to sell out fast!
